ISSUES
Our Focus
What is important in the Amphitheater District
-
Students First
- Support high-quality instruction and meaningful learning in every classroom.
- Ensure all students—across every school in our district—have access to strong instruction, essential resources, and support services, even within Arizona’s funding challenges.
- Assure access to mental health resources and foster positive and safe school cultures.
- Expand career and college pathways, including CTE and dual enrollment.
-
Strong Teachers
- Prioritize teacher retention, professional respect, and sustainable workloads.
- Create positive environments that support teachers, respect their expertise, and acknowledge their voice in policy decisions.
- Develop expertise in thoughtful incorporation of technology and artificial intelligence in the classroom.
-
Smart Spending
- Ensure that monies are used effectively to directly support students and classrooms.
- Manage enrollment and resources to keep class sizes reasonable and schools strong.
- Build trust in fiscal management through transparency, communication, and active listening with all stakeholders and by adopting a more proactive (vs reactive) strategy.
- Good governance should be data- and community-driven with kids at the center.
